It's spreading its arms across the road
Keen to block my ambitious strides
It's a menace that is ceaselessly assailing
My resolve to reach my chosen destination
It's flashing in my face a grim reality ahead
That awaits the failure of my young hopes

The Double-Faced Journey

This one life meets a stone in his travels
And sees the dreaded stumbling block
That dashes his hopes and halts the journey
Another life comes across the same stone
And smiles, seeing a blessed stepping stone
That will give him a footing on the murky trail
And he thanks fortune for the valuable provision
