Everyone is pulling on the blanket in every direction
Everyone wants it to be in his possession
Putting up a ferocious fight to have it all to himself
To everyone what matters is his own self

Is the sky blue?
Depends on what our leading voters are saying
Are they saying the sky is blue and beautiful?
Then the sky must be all blue and wonderful
We promise to maintain that as solidly as a mountain
And we are going to even improve it with resolve

The Opposition

Near the big river build an innocent port
Why build a port when people are starving?
The much needed staple maize do import
Why didn’t you just subsidize farm inputs?
Farm inputs subsidized and win support
Nothing it is, but a filthy campaign strategy!

Constitution Dethroned

Elevated to the very top with pomp
Yet trampled under mighty indignity
A high ruler of the supreme order
Yet pushed aside in a third term bid
The rule of the law nobly unbreakable

The Peace Dilemma

May there be peace in the world!
May everyone exercise utmost restraint
Fleeing like hell from the urge to mime
May there be no more cruel wars on earth
Conflicts deserve only to die and be buried
May peace deals always emerge victorious

Politician

The president patently cheated you
Where is that road he promised everyone?
He couldn’t even remember to pave one
Potholes are all over the roads you use
He squandered all your taxes on booze
Vote him again and forget about the road

The other aspirants are just lying too
How can that lawyer be an honest fellow?
That tycoon only cares about the rich-row
Doctors hardly know how to build a road
Women always take shortcuts, never a road
Vote them and your tax goes down the drain

I am the only candidate who is true
The road I will build will be faster than light
On this super road It will always be daylight
Accidents will certainly flee from this road
Congestion will never happen on this road
Vote me and you have the best road in the world
