When your lane is congested and slow
Your eyes and heart are evermore
Envying those on the other lane
That is going in the opposite direction
That is so free and fast in motion
But only by staying put on your lane
And fighting off the temptation
Will the arrival be a revolution
When you are an elephant waiting
For two years for the baby coming
You wish you were a chicken indeed
To cut the wait to a month instead
But patient waiting is the price
That you must pay twice or thrice
For being gigantic and majestic
With a goal towering and emphatic
When a hare dashes past you
You feel hurt and sad to be slow
Until the hunter dashes past too
Chasing the hare that past you flew
Then you remember thankfully
You are a tortoise built strongly
Encased in that impregnable armor
And so having no need to be a hare
Staying on your own path is the way to greatness
