The Best is Yet to Come

I ask the moon, please don’t go away
You are all I have got, oh, what can I say
You are my only ray of light, please stay
Without you how will I work and play
Without you how will my heart be happy
But the moon goes anyway

The moon is going as I watch on my knees
It is disappearing, ignoring my pleas
Despondence is strangling my throat
Emptiness is weighed down heart
From the glassy eyes tears start rolling down
The moon and the light are gone

As I lay lamenting the light that is gone
A ray of light is glowing out of the horizon
It grows so bright the eyes seek cover
And out comes the sun smiling all over
Sweeping aside the gloom like a bloom
There is hope even at the brink of doom
