Will Power

Will power is the inner fire power
That rockets the goal across
The space of time to its target
Lacking will power, the heart
Of the goal stops beating, and
Its energy dies and progress ceases

It is the fiery desire that fuels
The fire that burns steadily
Till all the obstacles are ashes
Should you take away the will power
The fire dies out, will power being
The fuel that keeps it burning

It is the indefatigable commitment
That pursues the goal with discipline
All the way to its desired conclusion
Should you deprive it of will power
That goal comes to a neglected path
That is a confused dead-end

It is the deep breath of life
That keeps the goal alive
Each and every passing day
Lifeless and therefore dead
Is that goal that is robbed
Of the lifeline of will power
