One Task at a Time

 

Each task like a goal can only be accomplished

If all the eyes are only on this task focused

And the ears are only to this task playing ball

And the legs are there just to score that goal

Like a kingdom that in size and power is great 

That all over the world commands respect 

Has only one king at a time sitting on the throne

Let only one task at a time be the ruler and you win

The music to the ears to be tickling and pleasing 

And to the heart to be meaningful and touching

Only one song at a time is given the floor and plays

To play multiple songs is to invite confusion and noise 

Trying to pull so many things with just one rope?

Overstretching the strands that are fighting to cope?

Surely the rope will snap and all effort will be lost

Committing to one task to the end wins the most

Is your schedule as crowded as a riotous mass

That is trying to squeeze through the door at once?

Anxious to get in and watch the game of greats?

There is only going to be broken bones and hearts
