Like soil erosion that regrettably washes away
The priceless nutrients down the wasteful slopes
And robs the land its precious gift of fertility
The unfortunate crops have to endure malnutrition
Their growth is as counterfeit as it is stunted
And the grower's reward is a very paltry harvest
Such is corruption when allowed to reign supreme
And wreak havoc on the noble progressive policy
Pushing competent skills and priceless resources
Down the drain, and rendering development
A futile effort that only exists on busy tongues
