The Talent in You

You got this talent, this art, this skill
That naturally comes to your constitution
It lies in your deep trenches sleeping
On the substitute bench it is forever confined
Never to be played in the real world
Never to grace the pitch of serious business
It lies in the cold, destitute and unused
As useful as it is, yet soundly overlooked

You underestimate your priceless talent
And undervalue its inestimable importance
Leaving it imprisoned in a vanity jail
Yet such is the very precious gem of life
The open secret that holds the keys
To the much coveted treasures of life
It is the crucial cornerstone of great life
A part of all unparalleled monuments of life

Such waste is undeserved injustice done
To a talent unpracticed and lying dormant
Denied nourishment and left malnourished
This goodly talent, well entrenched inside you
But is not put to good use and not perfected
It is a victim of treatment most unfair
A precious gem left in ruins like garbage
A jewel abandoned to neglectful desolation
