In The Dreamland


In the dreamland we dreamed of things
We did go as far as the outer space rings
The winds we chased with reckless abandon
As for the wild geese, we chased them at random


In the dreamland bliss was all that was there
Everyone, every John and Jane was merry
The splendorous mountains were pregnant with serene air
Even the usually agitated beaches and seas were all fair

In the dreamland smiles were so broad
And the very jovial heart loftily trod
Until the arrival of day, when dreamland vanished
When the morning rays of a mocking sun, reality furnished
